<p>Strange Health, a video podcast produced by The Conversation UK, has won the best health and wellbeing award at the <a href="https://voices.media/introducing-the-winners-of-2026s-publisher-podcast-awards-and-publisher-newsletter-awards/">Publisher Podcast Awards 2026</a>.</p>
<p>The judges said it was “an entertaining podcast with a winning combination of host discussion and academic specialists”. </p>
<p>Hosted by Katie Edwards, a health and medicine editor at The Conversation, and Dan Baumgardt, a practising GP and lecturer in health and life sciences at the University of Bristol, each episode of <a href="https://theconversation.com/topics/strange-health-podcast-183205">Strange Health</a> explores a health trend going viral on social media, and features an interview with an expert actively researching the issue.</p>
<p>Episodes included discussions of the <a href="https://theconversation.com/why-activating-your-vagus-nerve-has-become-the-latest-wellness-trend-275246">vagus nerve</a> and whether it could really be reset, <a href="https://theconversation.com/from-period-scooping-to-menstrual-masking-the-strange-science-of-viral-period-hacks-276733">period scooping</a> and whether <a href="https://theconversation.com/can-flashing-light-alter-your-mind-the-science-of-stroboscopic-stimulation-276034">flashing light can alter your mind</a>. </p>
<p>All episodes are available to watch on YouTube and Spotify, or you can listen wherever you get your podcasts.</p>
